DESTINATION UNKNOWN is a nomadic non-profit organisation that offers a working period for young artists in locations which are temporarily vacant. Artists are invited to react on the environment of the location with creative site-specific ideas and interventions. DU2024 will take place in the former DSM-headquarter in Heerlen, currently owned by housing association Wonen Limburg. The building will be transformed into a residential building.

During the working period of three months art professionals will be invited for workshops and conversations with the participating artists. Every artist will receive an artist’s fee of €1.817,- for creating new work that will be exhibited during the exhibition weekend at the end of the working period. In addition, every artist will receive a working budget and a travel allowance.
