Enderson Eversand Nr.1

Enderson Eversand Nr.1

The Enderson Eversand series is based on a beautiful cubic figure I discovered in the dunes of Bloemendaal, Netherlands.
The form I had found in the sand was an example of accidental art in nature.
And yet, nothing about it was accidental.
There were many causal factors for the phenomenon I had seen: The strength and direction of the wind blowing from the North Sea; the position of the moon and its gravitational pull causing tides and floods; the amount, time, weight of people that had walked on the beach, and even, how the sand particles on the beach were born from the rocks breaking down from weathering and eroding over thousands and even millions of years.
In a sense, I am standing in connection to the beginning of the earth, even to the universe every moment. I am part of the causal chain through my existence.
I know that I cannot capture what I have just seen and felt with my painting. This is simply impossible, as each communication tool, language, or art, are distorting truth in many ways. Thus, trying to capture something automatically creates something new. A synthesis of what I have seen, connecting to my physical and mental states, to my un-/conscious parts. With my artworks I try to celebrate this diverse synthesis.
