Sam Dendooven is a Belgian autodidact artist and designer. He studied industrial engineering. In his art and design, you can always see the hand of the engineer.

As a child, Sam used to dig sea clay in the mouth of the ‘Zwingeul’ to make his first sculptures. Some years later, he fabricated his first kiln and could fire these sculptures.

From then on the admiration for nature and natural processes has never stopped.

Each artwork starts from the astonishment for nature and natural processes or the simple and common things that surrounds us. This leads to sculptures on the edge of art and design.
