Coffee, bleach and polish on canvas

The paintings I have created using coffee and bleach are a reflection of the duality of human existence. The choice of materials - coffee, an everyday pleasure, and bleach, a potent cleansing agent - symbolizes the contrasts in life: warmth and comfort versus the power of change and transformation.

The brown tones resulting from the use of coffee reflect the depth of human experiences, the richness of emotions, and memories we cherish. At the same time, the bleach represents the inevitable influence of time and the capriciousness of our existence, suggesting the possibility of renewal and a fresh start.

Coffee evokes notions of comfort, routine, and familiarity. It is a beverage deeply ingrained in our daily rituals, providing solace and warmth in moments of solitude or social interaction. By incorporating coffee into my painting, I aim to capture these aspects of human connection and the mundane yet meaningful experiences that shape our lives.

Moreover, coffee embodies complexity and depth. Its rich aroma and intricate flavors reflect the layers of complexity within our own identities and experiences. Just as coffee beans undergo a process of cultivation, roasting, and brewing to reveal their full potential, so too do we undergo processes of growth, introspection, and transformation to discover our true selves.

By bringing these materials together on canvas, I aim to invite the viewer to introspect and contemplate the contradictions of life. The painting encourages a philosophical exploration of the duality of human experiences, emphasizing that both joy and sorrow, growth and decay are inherently intertwined with our existence.
