This piece is a sound installation composed of elements constructed by me, of which I provide two recordings via a mechanism of resonance boxes, made of metal and ceramic. Each element modifies, amplifies, and circulates the two different recordings. One recording is a composition based on field recordings from various environments in the Amazonian region of Ecuador in 2021, and the other records the creation processes of a sculptors' workshop in 2022. I employ the physics of a string telephone with cotton threads intertwined between the sculpture modules, creating an acoustic circuit that is always different because the recordings are looped, thus the circuits are always changing along with the final composition. I am interested in connecting different polyphonies from two different environments to create a single composition, as well as the physicality of sound as a universal language. By reaching precise frequencies, we can visualize the sound spectrum in the cotton threads as well as in the resonance emanating from each module.
