single channel video loop 9'7" My work is a hybrid fusion of film and photography, presented as slideshows and projections that immerse the viewer in a realm of glitches, pixels, and distortions. Deep within this cacophony of noise lies a narrative—a loop of fire and amnesia, fractured identities, and unsettling encounters. The arrangement of images and videos is ever-changing, played at varying speeds, reminiscent of deranged home movies viewed on a malfunctioning TV set. My childhood dreams revolved around creating music and films, and the grainy quality of my videos harks back to the medium of home movies, viral clips, and pornography—disposable viewing experiences all. They are what remains after the editing process is done. Occasionally, I present my work as video installations, but they work just as well, maybe even better viewed on a smartphone or tablet. By projecting my work as a combination of photographic stills and dynamic outtakes, I try to open up a world of possibilities. Each version subtly differs from the last, often accompanied by a unique soundtrack. Consider this: Do our memories define us, or is it the photographs we've captured that shape our identity? My work explores a multiverse of possibilities, intersecting and evolving at various speeds, accompanied by different soundscapes. It underscores that the past that was not lived isn't vastly different from the past that was.
