RUST COLLAGE 1 is a tribute to the natural process of rust in that everything you see has been ‘rusted’: the grey background fabric, the vertical stripes, the vertical strips and wire. The flanel has been dyed with acorns and then dipped in rust water to achieve the desired dark grey colour, the cotton has been printed with rusty objects and the strips and wire have been rusted by nature.
